ABOUT US

Who we are?

AMC stands for African Microfinance Corporation, an NGO that promotes rural-based activities and development in smallholder businesses.

AMC is the starting point of a sustainable circle for agriculture in Africa, helping people improve their lives and save a bit of money to face emergencies or develop their business.

If those who have a productive activity in high-value crops such as cacao, coffee, cotton, sugarcane, and tea are able to generate profit, they can use that profit or the product itself to repay the loan, making life for poor people easier.

Our microloans help farmers seize good market offers to pay for school fees, extra food for their children, or unexpected medical care.

AMC reaches farmers across Africa to enhance the value chain of agriculture. Thanks to the mobile banking system, we ensure a fast transfer of loans to help farmers or individuals buy seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides during difficult times. We also promote technical support and machinery to manage their crops and livestock.

AMC is funded by private sector investors and investment banks, aiming to reach one million smallholder farmers across Africa by 2030.

AMC's main objective is targeting young and beginning farmers, as well as small and medium-sized businesses, with the goal of supporting their enterprises.

While they may have a hard time finding loans from financial institutions due to the perception of high risk in agricultural sectors, AMC provides solutions.

With integrity and commitment, we deliver sustainable agricultural business solutions.

Over the years, we have built a system in which farmers pool their resources to buy commodities such as seeds and fertilizers, and provide a variety of services, such as machinery and technical support in specific areas.

AMC in Africa is a nonprofit that provides microfinance opportunities to people across Africa. Its current programs vary in nature. Some examples include giving loans to subsistence farmers to purchase a cow, providing water filtration systems, and educating students on microfinance. Microfinance is an innovative approach to growing the economies of impoverished nations by giving citizens access to small loans, usually under $500. It is a way for those in poverty to develop a stable income because they do not have access to traditional loans.

Historically, companies have used high-interest rates to exploit impoverished people seeking loans. However, agencies like AMC in Africa counter that practice. AMC offers options that often require recipients to take financial literacy courses and provide loans without requiring collateral.

In this way, AMC in Africa actively combats poverty in Africa.
